Triple Bunk Beds; Stroll though any furniture store and you'll see couch beds in all different styles, from modern to French. It's so hard to choose from the attractive styles offered. They are perfect for extra sleeping space for overnight guests. They save space and convert to a bed quickly to provide a good night's sleep for relatives and friends.

The day bed seems to be a modern invention, however, it has been in use since the earliest civilizations existed. They were used in ancient Greece and Rome. They are known by many names such as hideaway beds. Always convenient and lightweight, they are space-savers.

Native American tribes had a type of couch bed. During early Medieval days, the titled nobles moved often and their furnishings had to be lightweight for easy portability. Although they had peasants to help with work, only so many things could be moved that often. The ancient Chinese were accustomed to using the same furniture for seating and bedding.

Other names for the popular couch beds are pullout couches and sleeper-sofas. They are made as bunk beds and chair sizes to sleep one person. The child sized ones are good for kid's bedrooms and sleepovers. Many are fashioned with bed pillows that convert to sofa pillows in the daytime. This is another way to save space because no extra pillows are needed.

In the Renaissance, the Italians had a daybed that was in tent form. Arabian tribes used tents and created daybeds out of piles of pillows, cushions and blankets, which they sat on by day and slept on by night.
